Relationships and San Diego Real Estate
The last few weeks I’ve allowed myself to neglect some of the things I typically do. In their place I’ve given myself the gift of time in relationships. My husband Dave and I choose to be with his mother in Ohio the day after Christmas. This tradition started in 2011 when a coach of mine asked me to visualize my year and where I would be on December 31st. Having followed his instructions; I wrote what a satisfying and successful year would look like. Towards the end of the year on December 25th, Dave and I host my family at our home. We share gifts, food and lots of love. We then wake very early the next day (before 4am) and fly 2,500 miles to be with Dave’s family. Dave and I have been in Ohio at the end of each year, with people that we love every year sense. This brings me to relationship…
The past few weeks I’ve been blessed to watch two new relationships form. One relationship in Salem, Ohio and the other in Whittier, California. The Ohio relationship is my mother-in-law, Muriel and her new companion Chrissy, the cat. Muriel chose Chrissy out of many other cats at the Humane Society. Being eight years old she needed to be in a home where she would be loved and cared for. Muriel’s home is providing that safe place for her and just as important, she is providing much needed companionship for Muriel. The second relationship is my nephew Richard and his new wife Mallory. Dave and I witnessed their marriage this past weekend. Coincidentally Mallory and Richard have been together for eight years.
What does all this have to do with San Diego California real estate? In my mind it has to do with the relationships formed between people (and sometimes their cats) that need help finding or selling a house in San Diego and me helping them. It’s more than just business, it’s important life decisions, it’s feeling comfortable making those decisions and it’s about trust.
So, it’s January, a new year, a fresh start, and I’m excited to see the relationships that I will be blessed to be part of over the next year. Happy New Year!
