to tell everyone that if the phone rang, it should be answered within 2 rings.
If the person next to you is busy, answer the call for them, take a message or transfer them to the right person.
People want human contact.
Clients loved calling CD BABY, because they knew they would always get a real person on the phone.
Answer the phone.
Do what you say you are going to do.

San Diego home sellers and San Diego home buyers want to talk to a real live person when they call. I know this because I want to talk to a real live person when I make a call. If my call is not urgent, I can be patient for a return call, but I know this about me, I want to know when approximately that will happen.
I’ve noticed in the real estate world that many real estate agents have a message that says “I will return your call at my earliest convenience.” I do not like that and you will never get that type of a message when calling my San Diego real estate office.
